Description

We are looking for highly motivated medical students who want to work with us to develop world-class USMLE Step 1 content and build the medical education system of the future. You should be excited to work with a team in a high-energy and rapidly-growing startup company. If chosen, you will join a cast of several other editors to help update and continue to improve both our USMLE Step 1 curriculum and our technology platform.

Responsibilities

The Associate Editor will be:

  • Responsible for editing/developing at least one section (e.g., Renal, Cardiovascular). This will include updating information on anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, as well as writing free recall and multiple choice questions. This work will be reviewed by the Managing Editors as well as the Editor-in-Chief at regular intervals.
  • Responsible for responding to user-generated content-related suggestions as a part of our customer service / content improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have/be:

  • Student currently enrolled in an accredited US allopathic medical school.
  • Passion for teaching, researching, learning, and applying newfound medical knowledge
  • Detail-oriented with good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage the projects to accomplish desired results
  • Customer service orientation
  • Self-starter who can work independently to solve problems creatively and prioritize tasks
  • A passion for (and proficiency using) technology
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Motivation and energy to spare and the desire to gain an authentic startup experience and participate in the company’s success through stock compensation, rapid learning and network building.

Compensation is negotiable and will likely be productivity-based. Although cash compensation is an option, we have a strong preference for people who prefer to be compensated in the form of stock since we have found this to be a better predictor of success and team fit.
